I hope you realize something. Landlords also like to know that their future tenants have a good history of paying their financial obligations and paying them on time. After all, if a Tenant doesn’t pay their rent, there just may be a Landlord who can’t make their respective mortgage payment. Landlords and Owners of rental properties can be very strict on qualifying tenants based on previous performance.

Remember that I mentioned the DO OVER earlier? Well, it really means more to me than going back and doing something over to make it turn out better. I might be a little unique in my way of thinking, so bear with me. It goes like this. When I take the time to analyze different situations I find myself in, whether it is Real Estate related, spending quality time with my kids, making a big business decision, or whatever, I like to imagine myself as if I am living a DO OVER. I believe that if you look at any situation as if you have been given the opportunity to do it over again, (and this time do it right), then you tend to focus more on the potential outcomes of your decisions, not just the present situation. You look through different eyes. Your perspective is different when you focus on the long term results of what you are trying to achieve and not just the instant gratification of the moment.
You’ve all heard it before, You Reap What You Sow. Put another way; you can’t expect to harvest anything that you didn’t first plant. They say that only hind site is 20/20 well, the seeds that we plant grow into a predictable harvest. If you think about it in a little different way, our actions, the things that we do and the decisions that we make, all have a predictable outcome. Although there may be several different potential outcomes, by identifying them we can somewhat control them.
This is like peering into your own crystal ball.

Has anyone ever said to you or you to them, “What’s the worst case scenario?” or what is the worst possible outcome from the decision about to be made? If so then the next thought should have been either “I can live with that” or “What will I have to do to insure that that doesn’t happen”. I’ve heard it referred to as Proactive Prevention. Put another way, always have a back-up plan for when things don’t go the way you intended. Even skydivers pack two chutes (a back-up) just in case the main chute (the original plan) doesn’t work as intended.
